Overview of Service-Based Businesses
If you run a personal service business, hair salon, wellness spa, or medical clinic, your bookings depend on two resource constraints: your staff members (stylists, therapists, doctors) and your physical spaces or assets (styling chairs, treatment rooms, consult bays). Kinibook coordinates these automatically to prevent conflicts.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Follow these three simple phases to configure and link your staff and place resources:
Step 1: Register Your Stylists & Staff
First, define your team members who perform the appointments:
- Navigate to Staff & Places in your dashboard and click Add Resource.
- Enter each team member's name and optional contact info.
- Define their specific working shifts and rest periods to protect their calendars from booking collisions. Clients can only schedule services during these active working hours.
Step 2: Add Styling Chairs & Rooms
Next, add the physical rooms, treatment chairs, or bays required for appointments:
- Go to Staff & Places and click Add Resource.
- Register each physical asset (e.g. "Styling Chair 1" or "Consultation Room A").
- Kinibook treats each place as a calendar asset, ensuring you don't book more clients than your physical capacity allows.
Step 3: Link Resources to Services
Finally, connect staff and places to your service offerings:
- In your Services, edit or create a service (e.g., "Premium Haircut" or "Medical Consultation").
- Under the resource configuration options, select the specific staff members and places that are required to perform this service.
- When a customer books, Kinibook checks the availability of both the staff shift and the room calendar in real-time, preventing double-bookings.
Once resources are configured, your custom booking page is only active and live for clients once you perform an initial prepaid top-up (minimum RM 10) to cover booking costs. You can complete this by going to Billing.
