Rentals
Manage rental inventory and booking buffers.
Overview of Rental & Space Booking
If you rent out bridal gowns, equipment kits, photography studios, or vehicle spaces, your booking link acts as an automated inventory manager. Kinibook blocks the specific rental item or room for the duration of the booking so it cannot be duplicate-booked.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Follow these three simple phases to configure inventory items and scheduling buffers:
Step 1: Register Rental Items as Places
In Kinibook, your physical rental inventory and rooms are managed under Places:
- Navigate to Staff & Places in your dashboard sidebar.
- Add each rental item or room individually (e.g., "Studio Room A", "Bridal Gown - Classic White").
- Kinibook treats each item as a unique calendar asset, locking it automatically when reserved.
Step 2: Create a Rental Service
Create the booking options for your rental items:
- Navigate to your Services and click Add Service.
- Set the service duration to match your rental blocks (e.g. 2 hours or 8 hours).
- Link this service directly to the corresponding inventory Place. When booked, that item is instantly locked for that period, preventing other customers from selecting it.
Step 3: Set Cleanup and Reset Buffers
To ensure you have enough time to clean a studio room or check returned items for damage before the next rental starts:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Configure a reset buffer (e.g. 30 minutes).
- Kinibook automatically adds this buffer to the end of every booking, preventing new clients from booking the rental item until the cleanup period ends.
Once resources are configured, your custom booking page is only active and live for clients once you perform an initial prepaid top-up (minimum RM 10) to cover booking costs. You can complete this by going to Billing.
