Connect HitPay
Step-by-step guide to find your HitPay API keys and connect the gateway to Kinibook.
Before You Start
Before connecting HitPay to Kinibook, you will need:
- An active HitPay merchant account. Sign up at hitpayapp.com if you don't have one.
- Your account must be verified and active (not in test/sandbox mode for live payments).
Finding Your HitPay API Keys
HitPay requires two credentials: an API Key and a Salt. Here's where to find them:
Step 1: Log in to HitPay Dashboard
Go to dashboard.hitpayapp.com and sign in with your HitPay credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to API Keys
From the left sidebar, go to Settings → API Keys (or Developers → API Keys depending on your dashboard version).
Step 3: Copy API Key and Salt
You will see two values:
- API Key: A long alphanumeric string that identifies your merchant account.
- Salt: A secret string used to sign payment requests for security.
Copy both values. You'll paste them into Kinibook in the next section.
Never share your API Key or Salt with anyone. Kinibook encrypts these credentials and never displays them in plain text after initial save.
Connecting HitPay in Kinibook
Once you have your API Key and Salt, follow these steps in your Kinibook dashboard:
Step 1: Open Payment Settings
Navigate to Payments in your Kinibook dashboard sidebar.
Step 2: Select HitPay
Click Connect on the HitPay provider card.
Step 3: Enter API Key and Salt
Paste your HitPay API Key and Salt into the configuration modal fields.
Step 4: Verify and Save
Click Connect. Kinibook will run a verification check against the HitPay API to confirm your keys are valid. On success, the connection is automatically enabled.
Configuring the HitPay Webhook
For Kinibook to receive instant payment confirmations, you must register the webhook URL in your HitPay dashboard:
Step 1: Copy the Webhook URL
After a successful connection, Kinibook displays an auto-generated Webhook URL on the HitPay card. Copy this URL.
Step 2: Go to HitPay Webhook Settings
In your HitPay dashboard, navigate to Settings → Webhooks.
Step 3: Add the Webhook
Click Add Webhook, paste the URL from Kinibook, and select the event payment.status.changed. Save the webhook.
After saving, you can test the connection by creating a small test booking with payment enabled. If the webhook is configured correctly, Kinibook will update the booking status to "Paid" automatically once the transaction completes.
